Proposal for Improved Connectivity of Stanton Hill through Bus Services
The East Midlands Mayor has stated that: The East Midlands will benefit from the largest transport investment in a generation, which will be used to deliver a modern, reliable, and integrated transport system across the region, with a particular focus on reducing congestion and improving connectivity between areas that have little or no transport provision at all.
We propose the following specific measures to greatly improve the ‘connectivity’ of Stanton Hill, as well as Skegby and Teversal.
- Retain the existing (improved) 141 service with it being hourly, reliable and keeping to schedule, and to operate on weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
- Modify the route to improve access, e.g. include Fackley Way and new builds.
- Bring back an hourly service through Teversal to replace the withdrawn Spira service which will, together with the 141, provide a half hourly service to Stanton Hill. This will also reinstate a bus service on Wild Hill.
- Provide a community transport service between Stanton Hill, Skegby, Teversal and Huthwaite so that patients can access all the relevant GP services provided at the Brierley Park Medical Group facilities in both Huthwaite and Healdswood.
- Improve bus stop safety, especially at sites with no lay-by and high speed traffic, and also effective communication of reliable information by the bus company.
