Dear members of the Community,
Did you know that a request to redevelop the former Royal Pizza restaurant into a Pawn Store, a Secondhand Store and a Professional, Financial and Office Support Service to open a Cash Canada office in the previous name location has been approved as discretionary use?
The Inglewood Business Association Board of Directors believes that the proposed installment of businesses immediately across the street from an existing pawn shop and in walking distance of two other second-hand stores will negatively impact the immediate area. We think in our transforming area these businesses do not build on the shared values of sustainable and healthy practices that our community leagues, our churches as well as our many health and service organizations and businesses have been working so hard to build.

im still having conversations with folks who are just as frustrated as we are about the zoning for this new shop. we dont need more of the same in a neighborhood that is trying to grow in a different direction.

This area needs some sprucing up not dumbing down. Maybe the space could be better used for a ymca, movie theatre or some sort of family orientated businesses
While I don't agree with this petition's argument for "churches" encouraging community development enlightenment, I do believe there is already a surplus of pawn shops in this area. Perhaps this space would be better utilized as something else?
We really need a diversity of businesses that meet the needs of all residents, as well as citizens from elsewhere in the city. If approved, two loan shops would be next to each other on 118th and a short term loan shop a short distance away.
There is no need to proliferate the area with businesses that have a known high correlation with crime. One is more than enough.
I live in Dovercourt but am not interested in the Royal Pizza being turned into a pawn shop. I consider the Sherbrooke/Inglewood/Prince Charles areas extensions of my community and do not want to see any/additional pawn shops in the area. The Inglewood and 118 avenue area has enough challenges as it is without adding additional potential challenges to the area. I say no to the proposed pawn shop development.
I am a resident of Inglewood and I do not think these proposed business represent a healthy direction for our community.
We do not need another pawn shop or cash store in our area.

Opposed, not a good choice, already one pawn shop and two predatory cheque cashing places within a block. The space would be better served in its original form as a restaurant.
