We petition Sawtry Parish Council to keep St Judith’s Field green for future generations of Sawtry residents to enjoy. We ask that the council reverse their plans to build a skatepark on 1000 square metres of the field (concreting over an area big enough for 15 houses) and undertake to place a preservation order on the field to stop future development other than the planting of trees or shrubs. The preservation order would mean that no structures of any sort could be erected on the field for the foreseeable future and existing structures, apart from the wooden seats, could not be replaced. Sawtry is an overdeveloped village and needs St Judith's Field to stay green with it's beauty unspoilt.

St Judith's Field is a green oasis in a village lacking green space. We must pass on some unspoilt green space for the future residents to enjoy.
Save the field as a beautiful open green space. Let's undertake to place a preservation order on the field to stop future development other than the planting of trees or shrubs.

This space is not appropriate for a skatepark. There are noise issues and flooding issues not to mention the loss of a huge amount of green space, of which Sawtry has very little. Also this skatepark will be situated where the steepest part of the hill is and that's where a lot of tobogganing takes place....when we get snow!!!!! There must be other areas that may be more suitable and I would suggest the green space over the flyover where the fireworks take place.
