As local residents, we call upon the Hertfordshire County Council to make urgent changes to the section of Lamer Lane and Kimpton Road between The Broadway and the house known as 'Junipers'. The current national speed limit between these points encourages high speeds and dangerous overtaking - regardless of road conditions or visibility - especially at both ends of this section and at the junction with The Slype/Ballsough Lane. The junction is frequently used by walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, all of whom are regularly exposed to risk. The area is also a natural habitat for deer, which are often seen along the roadside at night. We call for a simple and low-cost solution such as extending the existing 30mph limit through Blackmore End and Lower Gustard Wood to cover this section of Lamer Lane/Kimpton Road and changing the current broken white line to unbroken. The increasing number of accidents and injuries (most recent: 31 January 2012) does not reflect the frequency of near misses.

seeing this much momentum behind safer roads for lamer lane is honestly wild. it feels like people are finally noticing just how dangerous that stretch has become for everyone out there. thanks for keeping the pressure up.

Unbroken lines are a must. The overtaking on those corners is just pure stupidity. Slow them down.

Living right by this road is a nightmare. People fly past here all the time like it's a race track. Someone is going to get killed eventually.

Hit a deer there last year. It was awful and my car was written off. Dont wait for a person to get hurt before doing something.

About time! The speed people hit going past that junction is mental. Nearly had a run in with a white van there just last week.
