Southlake Community
To the South Lake Community Developers and city council,
As engaged members of the South Lake Community, we call for a reassessment of the proposed retail and dining establishments in our neighborhood. Our petition outlines specific changes that would better serve the interests and values of our community:
1. Replace McDonald's with CAVA; alternatively, Sweetgreen is acceptable. We seek establishments that offer fresh, nutritious, and customizable meal options, reflecting our commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
2. Substitute Panda Express with Nando's; Eggspectation would also be a suitable option. A desire for diverse flavors and quality dining experiences is prevalent in our community, and these establishments would satisfy that need.
3. Exchange Giant for Whole Foods Market; Trader Joe's would be a welcome alternative. Our community prioritizes access to a wide variety of organic and specialty food products that these stores provide.
4. Opt for Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant over Ma Pearl's; Busboys and Poets is an acceptable second choice. We appreciate establishments that offer a cultural and sophisticated dining experience.
5. Support the addition of OneLife Fitness; ST. James as a second preference. Prioritizing health and wellness, we advocate for state-of-the-art fitness facilities that cater to our active lifestyles.
6. Replace PJ’s with Starbucks; Rise Up is a respected alternative. Our community values unique coffee experiences and would welcome the distinctive offerings these brands represent.
7. Exchange Residence Inn by Marriott for Aloft; Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants can also be considered. High-quality accommodation options are important for our visiting guests and business travelers.
8. For the currently empty units, we would like to see the following establishments:
Bonefish Grill, Yard House, Topgolf, Seoul Spice, Equinox, &pizza, JINYA Ramen Bar, Fogo de Chão, BurgerFi
This petition reflects our collective vision for the South Lake Community, aiming for a vibrant, health-conscious, and diverse commercial environment. We trust that our preferences will be given serious consideration in the planning process.
Sincerely,
The South Lake Community Members
