We the undersigned strongly disagree with the decision by Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to end the High Life scheme due to no new deal being negotiated .
For numerous years ,the local residents have been able to access the excellent swimming facilities offered by the Aviemore Highland Resort at affordable rates through the High Life Highland scheme, a council-funded scheme. Also highlife enables swimming lessons for Various kids across Badenoch and Strathspey and this will either move to another pool or stop all together. Free access to our swimming pool is included for all resort guests and also members of the Highlife leisure scheme. Please note that day or weekly passes for non-residents are no longer available.
The High Life scheme costs local residents £30 a month for access to the facilities. With the termination of the scheme, these facilities will be out of reach for all residents.
Please sign the petition asking Macdonald Hotels and Highland council to reconsider its current position and continue talks so that local residents and their children can continue to have access to a local swimming pool at reasonable rates.
Thank you
Please let us use the pool. MacDonalds didn't build the ice rink as per original plans, so the use of the pool was a condition of the closure/demolition of the old pool and ice rink and that agreement should remain. Otherwise the campaigning back in 90s was a waste of time.
