Swimming is an essential life skill for everyone and if you cant swim then you cant save yourself or other people . this is shocking and children need to learn how to swim. old or young we need a swimming pool.

Apart from enjoying use of the pool for leisure and recreation I recently suffered a serious accident in the hills. NHS advice to help rehabilitation was...... you guessed it! Go Swimming!

For the older memembers of the community swimming is a very valuable method of keeping fit and for regaining fitness after illness or injury.

This is a disgrace on both parts. The council should never have been sucked into a deal with MacDonald. They did the same thing in Kinloch Rannoch, a very remote community where the nearest community pool was a 60 mile round trip for some. As a a result a local family had to pay £450 a year to MacDonalds to have access to a very small pool without any lifeguard. We all need to fight this one.

A tourist destination like Aviemore should always have a swimming pool,and firstly for locals.

Be sensible Macdonalds... Can't imagine how you could possibly turn down the money from HC when your entire modus operandi is to run that place on a shoestring. HC let this be a lesson, when you're handing over ginormous sums of OUR MONEY to a private business...you dot the i's and cross the t's in future! If you'd done that originally we wouldn't be having this conversation!

It’s so sad, my kids are now starting to ask if we’ll ever go swimming again. MAHR you are losing out to the tune of more than half million pounds over the next 3 years, how do you plan to recoup this or will you just close down the pool altogether. Your reasoning just doesn’t add up.

Swimming in Aviemore is a 30 miles round trip. Inverness or Grantown becomes 100 miles. Nothing like a quick dip!
