As Sonoma County parents, students, and community members, we call upon our school districts to ensure that all sex education and HIV/AIDS prevention education meets the requirements of California law. Districts should:
1) Update school board policies to reflect current law;
2) Remove any elements of sex education that violate the law, such as instruction by the abstinence-only provider Free To Be;
3) Adopt new comprehensive, science-based curricula.
By taking these steps, Sonoma County districts will provide students with the sexual health instruction that they need and the law requires.

about time. our kids are getting outdated info that does nothing to help them. keep the science in the classroom and leave the politics out of it.
