We respectfully request the inclusion of an outdoor pool in the planned community center, as a number of families in Somers consider this to be the primary goal in developing the Angle Fly property. For many, an outdoor pool is the focal point in such a project. We also expect a balanced proposal that meets the needs of many constituencies, and do not want a proposal for an outdoor pool to be a separate line item on the ballot. A singular and comprehensive plan presents the community with the best chance for a center that satisfies the greatest number of our residents. This is an opportunity to galvanize the community and stop the divisive politics that sometimes exist in Somers. A true community center would bring everybody together in one place. We want to see a revised preliminary plan that includes an outdoor pool on the site. This petition is only meant to communicate the needs and interests of the undersigned, in the hopes that we will ultimately build a center that serves as a source of pride for Somers and its leadership.
