The Town’s single indoor pool is inadequate to serve our current population. The Town has doubled in size since that pool was built and currently rents time at Trinity College and Terry Pool (in East Hartford) to support resident activities. We have limited year-round pool availability for recreation and fitness purposes, long waiting lists for swim lessons and swim team, overcrowded practices, and fewer available aquatic programs than comparable towns within our state.
A new aquatic center, with an indoor/outdoor pool and related facilities, would benefit the entire community and position Glastonbury as an even more attractive community in which to live.
We, the undersigned, support the building of an aquatic center within the Town of Glastonbury, and are formally petitioning the Town to study the feasibility, including cost and availability of funding, of such a project.
I was just at the high school pool earlier and honestly it is so crowded that you can barely even do a lap without hitting someone else. My inbox is full of people sharing their own stories about these ridiculous waitlists for lessons and it really confirms we need a better space for everyone in town.

The Aquatic Center is an important investment and can be used by the entire town. Additionally it will have an economic return to the town. Current HS pool can not meet needs or residents.

I support the town project of building a new aquatic center. We need a facility for families and children to support fitness and health through the skill of swimming.

Glastonbury has grown way too much for just one small pool. its time to upgrade the facilities.

Strongly support - an aquatic center would greatly benefit our community.
