To the Green Tree Borough Council:

We, the undersigned residents and stakeholders of Green Tree Borough, request that the Borough Council reconsider the recently approved design for our new swimming pool. Despite holding feedback sessions, many community members feel their input was not adequately considered, especially regarding the pool's size.

Our concerns:

  1. Minimal Publicity: Feedback sessions were only publicized to the minimum requirements for public meetings and were not promoted at the pool, leading to low awareness and participation.
  2. Indirect Stakeholder Engagement: Direct communication between Council members and residents, pool management, public works, swim team coach, neighboring pool management, 2nd opinions from experts, and other key stakeholders was lacking.
  3. Pool Size: The current design is too small for our growing community and may not meet the needs of all pool users.
  4. Benchmarking Best Practices: Successful pool designs from similar communities should be considered.

We urge the Borough Council to pause the current design plans and commit to a more inclusive process, ensuring that all residents are aware of feedback opportunities, engaging directly with stakeholders, reevaluating the pool size, and learning from successful pool designs in nearby communities.

Sign the petition to support enhanced community engagement in the swimming pool design process!

The Borough Council is ignoring us because they think we will just roll over and accept their cramped design. We need to hit the two hundred fifty signature mark before the next meeting so they finally start paying attention to our list of demands.

The Borough Council is still trying to move forward with a pathetic design that ignores our real needs. They think they can hide behind their closed doors and minimal notice requirements while we all suffer the consequences of their incompetence.

What a waste of money. Stop the project and listen to the people who actually use the pool every single day!

They barely told anyone about the meetings. Very shady way to run things if you ask me.

Why not look at how other towns did theirs? seems like common sense to me.

Ridiculous. Do it right the first time so we dont have to worry about overcrowding later.

The new design is way too small for our town. We need a pool that actually fits everyone during the summer months.
