Petition for an Indoor Pool and Community Recreation Center in Carroll Park
We, the citizens of southwest Baltimore, petition the city to build an indoor pool to be open year round in conjunction with a community recreation center in Carroll Park.
Southwest Baltimore is one of largest communities in the city, yet it has inadequate public facilities and enrichment opportunities. We need more options to provide our neighbors with fun, healthy, and safe activities. An indoor pool with a multipurpose community center would help fulfill the recreational, educational, and social needs of the area. Carroll Park is a historic recreational area and essential green space for southwest Baltimore, making it an excellent location for a pool. Building these facilities would establish Carroll Park as an anchor for southwest Baltimore, benefitting current community members and drawing in families from across the city.
We testify that the City of Baltimore needs to adopt the plan created by the Friends of Carroll Park and the citizens of southwest Baltimore to build an indoor pool and community center.

weve been waiting for something like this for years. kids around here have nowhere to go after school and having a pool would be huge for the neighborhood. hope they actually follow thru.
