Please support! Alberta is the only province in Canada without a provincially funded meal program for it's students. Canada is also the only G8 country without a nationally sponsored program. In Canada, 1 in 6 children go to school hungry and of those, 74% will never tell anyone. This means that over 1 million children in this country go to school with empty stomachs. Help improve food security for Alberta's youngest citizens and give them all an equal opportunity to grow and learn. Thanks to all who have signed this petition for change!

this not only affects those kids who are hungry but kids who know them have empathy for their friends and think about them which distracts from learning
I would love to see some sort of food program go into schools. My daughter feels that it is her responsibility to feed classmates that do not have food. Now that we are not as financially comfortable as we used to be, I cannot afford to feed other kids, yet we hate seeing them go hungry.

What a major disappointment for us here in Alberta,and in this time and age for this to happen.Alberta:the richest province in Canada and "the children"...."our children", being neglected and let down..Time for a "MAJOR SHIFT" in the way our provincial government prioritizes and implement policies, I think.
