Who all is aware the City of Smyrna passed the Park and Recreation Master Plan? Link is below. Get informed as it may affect you.
On another topic, a skate park has an advocacy group that wants to build a skate park that will be in place of the current toddler area of Cobb Park (Bank at Sanford). See the attached photo for the drawing of where this is currently pitched. Not worried or care? The city appointed a member of this advocacy group to the Park and Recreation Department in December. That being said, I do think we need a skate park in the correct location. Instead of being negative, I think we should be supportive of the idea but in the right location--away from residential housing.
I've started a petition to help get this group in a location that will showcase the potential skate park, instead of hiding it in a quiet neighborhood. I want to help make it more of a competition/revenue icon rather than a recreational hangout.

I do not approve of a skatepark in the middle of this residential area. Noise pollution + light pollution. Neighbors do not want it there.
A skate park is probably a good idea... just in a better location. A quite niche park isn’t the best spot. Smyrna has other area which would accommodate parking & most likely better starting topography to build a concrete park.

There are many places in the city to put a skate park, Cobb park is NOT one of them!

Having a cool place for teenagers to hang out will give kids a positive place to be.

It will be great for Smyrna and we do have a Lots of skateboarders that live in Smyrna including my kids
