We, the undersigned, petition the Recreation Board to expand the Skate Park at Meeks Park. Providing skaters with more recreational area will lead to less collisions and injuries. The congested area limits the participation and ability of those who love this sport.

Spent the morning at the park watching the congestion firsthand. The need for more space is even more obvious than I thought.

I’ve skated here since I was young and there were just a few small ramps and rails. The new additions were great. Expansion would make it even better. Either way thanks for supplying it.
This is the only skatepark within 2 hours of me. So for it to be bigger would be GREAT
My boys love skating but there is not enough room for my little Boy to learn how to skate because there's so many bigger kids I would love them to expand it
As a single mother to 3 boys ashes 13, 12, and 9 I can not stress enough the importance of them having a safe place to practice their favorite sport. The number of kids in our community that use the skate park is growing and the small space currently provided is becoming more and more crowded. The kids really need a larger area for skate/bike park. A larger area would allow more kids to participate. It's great to see the teens coaching and encouraging the little guys. Give them a safe space to develop their skills please.

Needs more space and obstacles, have heard from the skaters that we should have some more skate obstacles that are designed for more inexperienced skaters, as well as some bigger obstacles for the seasoned skaters. Smaller examples; A kicker, lower grinding rails, possibly a hip in the corner. Bigger examples; Extend the halfpipe so that is it longer, as well as wider, and also add a taller connection (higher level) to the halfpipe which would also help extend it in width, also a "step up" bank (ramp with 1 or 2 stairs at the top onto an upper level that also includes a flatrail, curb, a bowl, and maybe a down rail with some stairs (3-5 stairs)
