Please join the Lake Shangri-la Property Owners Association as we attempt to "bring to light" a concern many members as well as neighborhood residents have expressed about the absence of ANY streetlights in our neighborhood. Adding adequate street lighting to our neighborhood streets is something we believe is an extremely important issue. Not just from the obvious immediate benefit of making our narrow and winding streets safer for our two and four legged pedestrians but from a safety and security standpoint as well. Studies have shown that not only does adding street lights help displace property and other types of crime, but it aids in fostering a closer sense of community by making residents feel more comfortable being out later in the evening hours and thereby having cause to interact with their fellow neighbors and residents. Please join us in petitioning the officials of the newly formed Village of Salem Lakes to invest in a more safe and friendly Lake Shangri-La Woodlands subdivision buy immediately installing adequate street lighting.
