The Pinellas County School Board in not renewing Mr. Jerry Shaver\'s contract as they feel the older teachers are no longer necessary. Mr. Shaver is a predominant part of the East Lake Community. The community awaits the shows under the direction of Mr. Shaver as they are consistently professional and entertaining. Mr. Shaver is worth the investment and the Pinellas County Superintendent should see that it is influential to retain as many quality teachers as they can for the interest of the county schools, students, and the East Lake Community. Mr. Jerry Shaver is an extremely talented quality teacher at East Lake High School. He is a major part of the children\'s lives, as he motivates and gives them direction they would otherwise not have. It is so very hard to find high caliber teachers these days. We should hold on tightly to the ones that we have as long as they still have the drive and desire to teach our children. Let us do everything in our power to let the school board see the importance of a positive learning experience for our children. With age comes exposure, many of our senior teachers have experimented with distinct teaching techniques and have found the one that works to the best advantage. Let us take maximum advantage of the talent and experience of the distinguished teachers that should be honored and commended instead of rejected and condemned. Please join in and let us be heard. I read a quote from Pablo Picasso that said \"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.\" Mr. Shaver knows how to keep his students inspired and bring out the artist in them through their own unique personality with confidence, and present it on the stage for the community to enjoy. We need to get as many sincere signatures on this petition and forward them to Superintendent Clayton Wilcox pleading for the renewal of Mr. Jerry Shaver\'s contract.
