Tougher Sentence's for 'One Punch Manslaughter'

We would like the Criminal Justice System to review the sentencing guidance for 'One Punch Manslaughter'. The maximum sentence for 'One Punch Manslaughter'is 8 years. It is time for a change in the law, so sentences better fit the enormity of the crime and in some way act as a deterrent.

Crimes which result in death should be treated more seriously, so as to ensure that the increased focus on the fact that the victim has diedas aconsequence of an unlawful act of violence, particularly were the perpetrator has a history of violence.

Joe McDermottaged 52 years; died 93 days after being punched once to the head in a totally unprovoked attack. The person responsible for killing Joe was at the time on bail for assaulting a woman 4 weeks earlier.

Joe’s killer was sentenced to 7 years which was reduced to 4 years 8 months because he pleaded 'GUILTY' of which the judge said he would serve 2 years 4 months.

PLEASE!!! Sign our petition to avoid any other family receiving this kind of justice.

I cannot stop looking at the counter because we are right on the edge of hitting a thousand names and honestly it feels like the momentum is finally building into something real. If you know anyone who hasn't seen the page yet please send them the link right now because those of us left behind need to show them that this level of sentencing is just not right.

I can see the counter creeping up toward one hundred and it really makes my head spin when I think about how many people actually get it because nobody should go through what we went through. If you have the time today please just blast this link out to anyone who will listen since we need to hit that milestone before the lawyers look at anything we have to say.

I lost my son recently by an individual who had been drinking taken ketamine and cocaine causing problems in a pub asked to leave continued fighting outside then approached my son intent on a fight when my son stood back he proceeded to hit him in fact twice my son suffered critical head injury and cardiac arrest he never regained consciousness and I lost him four days later. Sentence given of four years to a killer this is in no way justice and these attacks getting worse there should be drastic change in our judicial system with urgency

Sickening. My brother was killed the same way and the person spent barely any time inside. Change the law now

4 years for taking a life is a complete joke the law needs to wake up and start protecting the victims instead of the criminals
