Hi,
I am conducting this petition for the purpose of gathering accurate information on whether people agree that the UK Criminal Justice System needs changing. My personal view is that the justice system is far to lenient in most scenarios currently and therefore, I am trying to get a change in the system. Many other individuals have the same views as me. For example:- re-offending paedophiles getting EIGHT months imprisonment, in contrast to a first offender who has committed in a relatively minor theft and he receives a YEAR or maybe longer. Obiously, the two offences are not at all similar but, that is how sentencing is being handed out at the moment. It makes no sense at all and we as a nation deserve justice fitting to the crime committed. The criminals should pay the appropriate penance for what they have done.

About time someone said it. The system is backwards and needs a massive overhaul asap.
it makes me sick seeing these repeat offenders back on the streets so quick. hard time for hard crimes simple as that.
The law is failing us. Need common sense back in the courtroom.
8 months for that?? absolutely disgusting. whoever decided that sentence should be ashamed of themselves.
Too lenient is an understatement. Soft touches all round in the courts.

Sentencing in this country is a complete joke. Criminals have more rights than the victims do these days.
