Final supporters
We Request this facility due to the closure of the "Newspace" gallery which was a vital service for SCA students. The gallery was supporting students in their development as practicing artists and was unable to be sustained due to the cancellation of compulsory union fees, which has now been replaced by the Student Services and Amenities fee.
We expect the University to do the right thing and give us back what was previously ours and to keep our support services and facilities in line with our competitor educational facilities, to ensure that we are not disadvantaged by not having exhibition experience which is essential for our professional development and career opportunities as practicing visual artists.

I was just staring at the screen and honestly it feels like the momentum is actually building into something real now because I really did not think this would take off like this. It keeps blowing my mind to see people actually caring about the gallery stuff as much as I do since sometimes I feel like I am just shouting into the void about these exhibition spaces.

Ridiculous that they closed our space. We pay all these fees now so where is the money actually going???
bring back the gallery. it was the heart of the college.
Too many cuts lately. The campus feels empty without a dedicated gallery for students.
If uni wants us to be professional artists they need to provide the facilities for us to showcase our work. Simple as that.
Need this space to actually get real world experience. Cant just rely on classrooms alone.

really missing newspace. it makes such a huge difference for our portfolios and just having a place for creative community.
