We the undersigned Petition South Bucks District Council to restrict the Hitcham Road Access Point of the Bishop Centre Development to Routine Pedestrian/Cycle use only (with provision for use in exceptional circumstances as a vehicle access point).
As local residents we are very concerned about the increased amount of traffic that will be generated along Hag Hill Lane as a result of it being used as a shortcut to and from the Hitcham Road access point by drivers wishing to avoid queues on the Bath Road.
Hag Hill Lane is a residential lane with no pavements along most of its length which is routinely used by residents including children walking to and from school.
Given our local knowledge of the current traffic situation and the weaknesses in the transport assessment carried out by Land Securities in agreement with Buckinghamshire County Council Highways Agency (Transport for Buckinghamshire), we feel there has not been due consideration to the impact on the use of Hag Hill Lane by traffic as a result of the current development. (See attached appendix for analysis of the Transport Assessment).
The profitability of the new development should not be put above the safety of the residents of the Hag Hill Neighbourhood and our children.

I was walking down Hag Hill Lane earlier and counting the cars cutting through again which just makes my blood boil because it is getting worse every single day. I have been spending my nights digging through the original transport assessment files and it is honestly infuriating how they just glossed over the lack of pavements while acting like this is all perfectly fine for us. There is a meeting coming up with some local planners and I plan to shove these concerns right in front of them so stay tuned.

Now that Tesco has opened the Hitcham Road entrance & exit is used by a very large volume of traffic. To make matters worse, cars are parking on either side of Hitcham Road which makes visibility difficult for traffic coming out of Hag Hill Lane as well as out of the Bishop Centre = very dangerous.
Please listen to your residents. We live in the cottages and will be prisoners in our own homes. Please make Hag Hill Lane and Rise permit parking only
After the 1st official weekend of Tesco's opening the parking was horrendous. I can't actually believe how some people parked their cars causing the traffic to be even worse. There needs to be double yellow lines painted on Hitcham Road to avoid the road being totally blocked.

As a "not quite" resident but a long term doubter of the parking facilities allocated to this development, I was not surprised at just how awful this weekend was. There was traffic lined along the roads of visitors who could not find a space in the ridiculously small car park and ques of traffic waiting for spaces to be free. The residents will suffer as badly parked cars are blocking entrances and road junctions and it was quite frankly dangerous.
