Traton Homes wants to rezone 16 acres of land on the corner of Bob Cox Rd. and Burnt Hickory Rd. from R-20 to Residential Senior Housing. Currently, there is one home; the proposal asks for 46 homes. We request that the Cobb County Planning Commission and the Board of Commissioners vote NO on this proposal as it will bring medium-density housing into an area of low density housing.
This proposal is not in character and keeping with the adjacent community. Further, the intersection of Bob Cox and Burnt Hickory already sees a high volume of traffic and has been the site of several serious accidents. It is not conducive for Residential Senior Living; this proposal is merely a way to increase density on a small parcel of land.

We live on Madison Grove Lane just off of Gordon Combs Road. Sometimes making a left onto Burnt Hickory feels like a death sentence. Be quick or be dead. Adding these plans to the corner of Burnt Hickory & Bob Cox will only complicate traffic issues.
I absolutely agree with all the comments regarding the traffic, but I would also like to highlight the loss of school tax revenue with PUDs such as this. Lately there have been many 55+ PUDs approved in West Cobb, I can only imagine what affect that has in the loss of school tax revenues.
Completely unacceptable. Has anyone done a traffic study on this? The hardscaping will cause flooding to nearby homes. Wildlife will have no where to go. I can't believe our commissioners are allowing this. It's like we have a Tim Lee approval here...look where he is now....out.
We live off of Bob Cox Road. We are concerned not only about the traffic but there are no sewers or drain systems installed in our area. We have a horrible problem with drainage and run off in our yard and afraid that this will only add to it.
I travel through this intersection daily and it is already very dangerous! The construction of and future residents of High density senior homes will only make this worse. Please do not approve this development!
I vote "no" to Test in Homes.
That road backs up every rush hour and cars on side roads cannot turn safely! It is a difficult place to have a road, and to add 46 houses and all that traffic is absolutely insane! We cannot get to jobs or appointments as it is!

We have three brand new senior living housing developments in the area already.;One on Burnt Hickory on Whitlock, one on Barrett Parkway, and the other on Dallas Hwy. All three are within a few miles of this location. None are full. These are not needed.
