Like other cities before it, Chanhassen was built on strong community values and small businesses that make them great places to live. There's a time and a place for big box business, but Total Wine doesn't belong here. We don't need another liquor store. SAY NO to Total Wine in Chanhassen.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you feel the same way about our town. If we can reach one hundred signatures together today it would really show that our community cares about keeping Chanhassen unique.

Allowing Total Wine (or any other big box/high traffic retailer) in that SMALL area is beyond ridiculous. Adjacent to Summerwood, Foss & St. Hubert where traffic and parking already prove challenging?? Good luck with that. City council is increasingly ignoring the demographics of the very city they purport to represent.

Every time Chanhassen adds a big-box retailer, the uniqueness and character that have been the trademarks of the city are greatly lessened. If I want to shop in Shakopee, I'll drive there.

Total Wine is the WalMart of liquor stores. They open a store and price their products with the sole intent of driving out all the smaller stores. Their predatory pricing practices are well known. They would be a blight on the lovely city of Chanhassen. Just say no to Total Wine.

Chanhassen doesn't need 8 liquor stores and the area selected for the building can not support the traffic. It is across from a eldercare facility and some of those residents walk to the grocery store, a recipe for disaster.

Chan is about community, we are not a big box city, don't want it don't need it! . I love supporting local business that have been here for years, they are friends and have helped make up the fabric of our community. Keep Chan a special place to live, I say no to TW!

They will run many of our existing small business liquor store owners out of business. I know cheap liquor sounds good but once they are your only choice... It won't be cheap anymore.

We would much rather patronize our locally owned store- please do not send it out of business!

Our community is too small for that large liquor store, along with all the other small retail liquor stores.
