As you may or may not know, the Shop Ko in Pullman is closing soon. While I don't wish to diminish the impact this will have on many workers and the local economy, I do think there is a unique opportunity to fill that space with something Pullman really doesn't have, a Total Wine. The space is big enough that not just any retailer can occupy it, and it is about the same size as some of Total Wines other establishments. The location is perfect, as it’s located in one town with a large land grant institution of higher education, and only eight miles from a second land grant institution of higher education. Between faculty, staff and visitors, there will almost certainly ill be enough business, both on busy weekends (football and parents) and at non-busy times to warrant Total Wine coming to Pullman, as there really isn't a store that specialized in large varieties of beer, liquor and wine.

For those of you unfamiliar with what Total Wine is, it’s much more than a wine store, though wine does take up over a third of their space. They specialize in providing a wide variety of spirits from around the world. It’s comparable to a Bev Mo for those of you who are from the south west.

So I call on all you sommelier's in training, scotch enthusiasts and fellow micro-brew elitist! Spread the word, let’s get as many people on board to make our case to Pullman and Total Wine!
