Say NO to extending sunday retail hours
Councils are being given the option to relax laws on Sunday trading hours, meaning, if they do so, retail stores could be adding more hours onto the working day.
For all people who already work in retail, we know the work/life balance is hard. Shops so not need to be open longer on a Sunday.
I believe people will still spend the same amount, just spread over a longer time period. Shops are open 7 days a week and many supermarkets 24 during week days. If that isn't enough 'shopping time' then I don't know what to say. Instead of looking at extending shopping times and opening stores for longer, they should be looking at other more important factors affecting people in retail- wages, shift patterns, lifestyle and balance with home life.
SAY NO TO LONGER SUNDAY OPENING HOURS!!
