Case # S-4-2020 currently being considered by the Mount Pleasant Board of Zoning Appeals will, if approved, allow for a gas station to be operated on the site a vacant plot of land at the corner of 17N and Old Course Lane. This neighborhood is currently serviced by an Exxon station, Costco, a Shell station in Oakland Market and numerous other stations with a 2 mile radius. The undersigned residents of Mount Pleasant request that this zoning appeal be denied as it adds nothing to the area that we already don't have. Thank you.

As a property owner in Charleston National Subdivision. This is an obtrusive plan that will have serious effect on property values and traffic flow safety issues, for another unneeded fuel station.
This is a residential area and another gas station is not needed. The canopy lighting alone would be a nuisance to the neighborhood and would bring more people to this area after dark that don’t live here. At least a restaurant would close before midnight.
There are more gas stations here than any place I've in 56 years. I'm not against progress, although Mount Pleasant is overbuilt already, but I'd rather a park or a multiuse community spot or even restaurant opportunities which are far less here than the rest of Mount Pleasant.
Please not another gas station. Leave that area alone. Do not change the entrance to Charleston National. Also amazing how many trees on the survey have suddenly become “poor” in condition. Live oaks will be removed and they are considered “good”. We have plenty of gas stations within 1/4 mile. Not needed.
We have 2 newer gas stations within a mile of this property. This lot is in a spot where children walk from neighboring subdivisions to school. The traffic and danger it could bring could be deadly.
I am a resident of Charleston National and this use requires BZA approval for a reason. I do not support a gas station on this property. Please do not approve this exception
There is NO need for another gas station! A decent neighborhood restaurant....that's a different story, but Gas stations? Are we becoming Myrtle Beach?

The infrastructure can’t handle this - you cannot have people crossing 17 to go south and you cannot have a high volume of cars making u-turns at Carolina Park Blvd. Unsafe, unnecessary and unwanted by the people who live near it.
