A Fine Arts education is scientifically prove to be an important part of becoming successful in a student's educational endeavors. This is why UIC College Prep should not take away the Fine Arts classes for upperclassmen. Just because some students wish to focus on STEM majors does not mean that they should be limited to only taking science courses. Many of the solutions that the school is offering are not great ideas. Starting school at 7:00 in the morning just adds more pressure to the students' already hectic lives. UICCP has made it impossible to express our beliefs and teachers to support their students. Not anymore! Please sign the petition below to help support keeping the Fine Arts program alive within UICCP. Thank you.

The stories shared in the comments show exactly why these classes must stay. We are pushing for a sit-down with the administration to discuss these cuts.

There's so much I could say about this, but there just isn't enough time. I can't express enough how important it is to integrate fine arts into our schedule. Taking that and offering it so early is just not feasible for some, on top of their already busy schedule. Please don't take this away from our students. I truly would not be who I am now without Mr. Sanders and our band class.

As a STEM major, I value fine arts more. Those classes are what has kept me sane in middle school, high school, and now college. Don't take these classes away from the current and future students.

ROTC students will have a difficult decision to make as well! They've worked hard to get where they are and now they have to pick between two things they love! #FineArtsForUICCPSeniors

My daughter took great pride in the Fine Arts programs offered at UICCP and the discipline required helped prepare her for college. It's always the easy choice to cut fine arts but isn't always the best choice.

UICCP would honestly suck without arts programs. I would honestly never send my kids to a school that cares more about an extra forced class in a schedule that students already have no choice to have than their mental health and destressing.

either being in band my sophomore year or choir the other two years, the fine arts has helped me express myself and become the outgoing person I am. I strongly support this and even did my senior project about schools keeping fine arts.

A charter school getting taxpayer money - sounds downright illegal to eliminate fine arts at any stage of the curriculum.
