The Local Development Plan (LDP) for Swansea has 3 areas designated to Cwm Farm Lane. SK 0030 is for 5 units of semi detached houses on a damp, wooded piece of land in Sketty, Swansea. The land is on an ancient, narrow lane used for recreational purposes by walkers and cyclists. The lane is unadopted and provides a pleasant walk to the sea past ancient hedges, providing protection for animals using this green corridor from the park to the sea. SK0015 refers to a sloping piece of land which now has a small spinney and is a haven for wildlife. Please sign by 29th September. We, the undersigned, wish these 2 parcels of land to be designated as land for recreational use and not housing to preserve the character of the lane and the trees and to conserve the area for Pipistrelle bats, rabbits, woodmice and birds. Few rural lanes remain in Swansea and this one should be retained
Reaching this point has been a long and exhausting climb but I am encouraged by the growing swell of people who refuse to see this lane paved over. This momentum proves that others see the value in protecting what little remains of our natural spaces. We are tired but we are not stopping now.

Lived here twenty years and the traffic is already a nightmare. No way this narrow lane can handle more cars. Leave it alone!

Used to walk down this lane every weekend as a kid. Its one of the last quiet spots left in Sketty. Stop the building before its gone for good.

Disgraceful. The bats and birds live there. Why does everything have to be concrete?
