London Midland are planning to close 9 local rail station offices permanently in the West Midlands area and drastically reduce opening hours at other stations.
96% of local stations will be affected by this damaging cost cutting exercise, despite the company receiving over £260 million in public subsidy since 2007 and continually increasing fares. 130 station staff jobs will go, altering the quality and choice of the service you receive.
We must stop the station cuts to save our dedicated staff and because we believe that you, the customer, deserves a better service. Join the RMT & TSSA campaign to make that happen.
I am truly stunned by the momentum this has gathered lately. This movement belongs entirely to you because I never imagined it would reach so many people who care about our rail staff.

The price of my season ticket goes up every year but the service just gets worse. Leave the staff alone.

I rely on the station staff for help with my ticket machine every morning. This is going to make commuting a nightmare for everyone.

Ridiculous. They take our money and then cut the service. Stop greedy companies from stripping everything away.

Trains are expensive enough as it is. Now they want to cut the staff too? Absolute joke.

It feels so much safer having people working at the station at night. Replacing them with machines is a terrible idea.
