- The mission of "Save Marple Greenspace" is to stop the rezoning and development of the largest unprotected area of Greenspace in Marple Township.
- Our goal is to unite Marple and Delco neighbors to stop the rezoning and development of the Don Guanella site by Goodman Properties.
We ask the Marple Commissioners for the following:
1) Reject any rezoning on the 200 acre property and allow development only "by right" given current zoning laws which have been in place for good reason for many years.
2) Provide open meetings concerning relevant traffic studies and development proposals.
3) Provide relevant meeting info online so that the community can be informed and offer input.
This is the largest open space in Delaware County and will preserve the health, environmental, recreational and aesthetic benefits this land has provided for a century.
If passed zoning changes will:
-create more unnecessary commercial space
-create more traffic, noise and pollution
-result in longer commute times
-decrease property values
-compromise the character and integrity of Marple and the surrounding communities.

i have lived near ohara my whole life. when i was younger i used to play om them woods all the time. i jave a lot of great memories there. we need to save these woods and challenge the bulidings they are planning.
Not in favor of the development. Float a bond and keep as green space. I'll pay a bit more in taxes for that. Pope Francis is concerned re global warming: this proposal just puts more carbon in the air.
Was the Township even offered an opportunity to bid on the property? Could we do something where half is developed/half is preserved as green space (trails and fields, something akin to Haverford Reserve)?

As a leader of a nearby faith community, I have heard from people that do not want to see commercial development on this land. Preserved green space, or even a community-supported farm that can provide locally-grown food are some of the better ideas that I am confident can be achieved.
we don't need more traffic lets try to save this ground for our kids and grandkids---there are plenty of stores here lets keep it green

I own a business in the industrial park. Traffic is bad on any weekday after 3 on Sproul Rd. for our deliveries. I can't imagine the greater traffic delays with this proposed project. It's going to cost more employee time sitting in traffic.
