Save Churchdown Park

Churchdown Parish
Council wants to have Churchdown Park designated as a Field in Trust as part of a national campaign to protect the long term future
of parks and playing fields in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond
Jubilee. In order to participate the
applicants must either own the land or
have a lease of at least 99 years.
The Parish Council has a lease on Churchdown Park which has only 15 years left to run. The Council has
approached the owners - Gloucester City
Council and Cheltenham Borough Councils -
to extend the lease or purchase the Freehold of the land. This request has been refused and
the Parish Council has been informed by
these Authorities that they ‘wish to keep their options open for the longer term’. The Parish Council feels that this is unacceptable.
There is a petition at the
Parish Council Offices, Churchdown Park, Parton Road, so please come in to sign
it if you can. Once we have 1,000 signatures it can be presented to Gloucester
City and Cheltenham Borough to show that we are serious about protecting our
park. If you can't come in, please sign the online ipetition as this will also help
us.
