Our neighborhood stands to lose a critical "third space" (between work and home) where residents can both shop and socialize in an intellectually stimulating environment. Businesses in The Village have certainly benefited from this Borders location, which draws residents from across the 5 Pointes and surrounding region. Moreover, our community's youth was well served by the children's area and cafe, a place where young adults could gather to consume books and media, not just coffee.

Borders executives thought they could just walk away from this community without a fight. This surge of support proves they were dead wrong and we are not going to let them strip the heart out of the Village without making them pay for it.

Total bummer. Another big chain leaving us with nothing but empty storefronts. Do better.
The village just wont be the same without it. Where are we supposed to go now for a decent book selection?
Borders is the only reason I even visit the village shopping district anymore. fix this.
MY KIDS LOVE THE STORY TIME!! Dont take this away from us.
Such a shame. This spot has been a staple for years and it really brings the neighborhood together.

This is such a loss for the community. I have spent so many rainy afternoons in that cafe. Please find a way to keep it open!
