Mirvac has decided to close Bar Piazza down after 18 months of delayed negotiations. We have requested that Bar piazza increases it's menu to include food as to allow us to compete with the various new coffee outlets being opened.
During this time Mirvac has put our site on the market Feb 2015. They actually offered it to Soul Origin with the promise of relocation us should we have lost our site.
Nevertheless we have seen our coffee trade eroded and cannot compete as we don't have an expanded menu to support a discounted coffee strategy to win back price sensitive customers. Furthermore we were told not to start selling any new products until we signed a lease.
Bar Piazza aims to increase our menu to include breakfast, Quality panini, freshly cooked pasta (2 - 3 mins) and fresh dough pizza in 90 seconds. Mirvac had done multiple back flips on our negotiation with the view of protecting the new tenants and the future tenants being namely Corbette and Claude which are due to arrive later this year. It just so happens that they have a similar menu but with alcohol. Mind you for the past 2-3 years we were all told that wine and Tapas was coming???
Bar piazza welcomes your support by signing this petition and by boycotting our new competitors coffee as a protest until Mirvac rescinds their decision and allows Bar Piazza to stay.
My family and I stand to lose around $3/4million investment. Not mention I will have no livelihood come the end of April 2016

Best coffee in the food court. I have been getting my morning coffee from the same for the last few years. Not only that I do not understand rejecting an application to expand their menu when Mirvac keep increasing direct competitors not only to Bar Piazza but other types of eateries already there?
Come on Mirvac, act ethically.

Another loss of another great independent coffee shop
Easily the best coffee in Rhodes, fantastic service and would be such a shame to see them be closed down. Small business is what Australia is all about. Been a customer for 3 years now.
