Save Derby Public School
My name is Hayley Tuck, I am 15 years old and I went to Derby for 7 years. Derby Public School is a small school located in Kilsyth, Ontario. I am trying to save this school because it changes every child that goes there and I can’t stand the fact that some children will lose that chance. Derby teaches teamwork, respect, responsibility and honesty, just to name a few. You can’t get any of the special connections between both teachers and students at any other school. No school has a better learning environment then Derby; because it is a small school student’s get more attention from the teachers and you can get help when you need it. If Derby closes then a lot of the children that go there or would have gone there, could struggle in a different school because they don’t have that special one on one connection with their teachers and peers. If you are trying to benefit children then you have to keep this school open! You won’t find any other school like it. If Derby closes: • Teachers will lose their jobs • Children will lose the connections with their teachers and peers • Children won’t get the attention they need and deserve • Traits like respect, honesty, ect. Won’t get taught to children • Families will have to move • Children who go to Derby will have to start over and lose some of their best friends • A big family will be cut off If you want to help support this cause and assist with the development of children in the future, please sign this petition. This school connects the community and brings people together. We are one big family. Everyone that has gone to Derby or who is going to Derby has stuck together. I have never been so passionate about anything in my life. Please help me keep this school open, you won’t be sorry. Join me in the fight to save Derby Public school!
