67 years ago, men from East Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities, who had served overseas in World War I and World War II chartered a VFW Post where people could get together and foster friendship and good times. For many years this institution has been a fixture in the community. It is now in danger of being run into the ground by those who are in charge, who care only about themselves, and not about the institution they have been entrusted with to protect and grow. Lack of financial accountability, rude service, cancellation of membership celebrations...you name it, it's going on, and the Post is on the verge of collapse. Now, this page has been created to make others aware of it, if they aren't already, and try to get changes made. Join us in trying to help save VFW Post 5008, and sign this petition, so that it may be presented to help effect change at the Post level, and if not, it will be sent higher in the VFW chain of command.
