Here in the 70003, we have some lovely neighborhoods as well as schools and businesses that are exposed to ever-increasing, dangerous I-10 traffic without protection. The noise never stops from rush hour traffic, the steady drum of 18 wheelers, and the muffler-free motorcycle and drag racers that like to speed all night long. Our health and well-being and that of our children are at stake, not to mention DEGRADED PROPERTY VALUES because of freeway noise and exposure.
We want to see the sound barrier walls extended to the Power Boulevard exit and hopefully beyond to also protect our friends and businesses in Kenner. Please join your voice and work with us to see that this is accomplished.

Please finish the I-10 sound barrier near Power Blvd. I-10 traffic is very loud for our homes and 3 schools and Library in this area
Sound barrier, Schmound barrier. I am all in favor of a sound barrier that actually works. What is in place now does not work. It is just as loud 3, 4, 5, 6, blocks away as it is on the streets that run adjacent to the freeway. What needs to happen is: 1. Build a proper, low noise road surface. 2. Have the Highway Patrol actually Patrol the freeways and STOP the fast and loud (no pun intended) cars, trucks and motorcycles from blasting down the onramps and continuing to barrel down the freeways at wide open throttle, be they racing or simply driving like maniacs. 3. Implement a Mass Transit System that can be used by more people, and reduce the amount of traffic on the freeways, highways and surface streets. 4. Implement a ride share (not uber/lyft) where we can drastically Reduce Single Occupant vehicles. 5. Build a proper, elevated 2 lane bypass that allows cars to drive past the areas where we see too much congestion. 6. Raise awareness that safely riding motorcycles will drastically reduce congestion, and allow riders to lane split during high congestion/slow speed situations. 7. If you are going to build a sound barrier, do a bit more research and find one that, when combined with a better road surface, will actually reduce the noise and pollution, instead of simply lining people's pockets. Common sense?

I am 1 1/2 blocks from W. Esplanade & have been here since 1965. The noise from I-10 has gotten worse every year & is relentless. Please extend the sound barrier to Power Blvd & beyond.
