Limewood Circle was developed prior to I-71's existence, and traffic noise levels have continually increased as this interstate’s use has grown. Since the recent I-71 Northbound merge lane extension (from I-264 East onto I-71 North), residents are now experiencing even higher traffic noise levels including vehicle acceleration/deceleration, semi- truck "jake" brakes, rescue vehicle sirens, car stereos, etc. This increased noise is especially noticeable at night and very early in the mornings, causing sleep disturbances. In addition, the excessive noise levels prevent residents from enjoying their properties and the use of our neighborhood’s recreation area throughout the day.
All of us in support of this petition ask that the State of Kentucky approve our request to fund this project in the 2016 biennial budget.12 Comments
I support this noise pollution project and would like to see noise reduction requirements be enacted for semi truck obtrusive down shifting driving habits.
I am for the barrier being built to cut down on the noise. With two nursing homes in our area, there seems to always be a fire truck with a siren.
Please support the addition of this sound wall - the noise levels exceed all levels of comfort
Please extend the sound barrier along I71. The noise is a constant annoyance to us.
This noise barrier is really needed!
The interstate noise level keeps increasing each year. Please install this noise barrier!
