Final supporters
We are signing to support the closure of Union Street on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing businesses to set up shop directly on the street area. This will create a socially distant Open Air Marketplace without car or bus traffic. This is NOT a proposal for a street fair, but rather a fun and relaxed way to shop and dine, create a sense of normalcy and renew the Union Street experience in the age of COVID-19.
Our neighborhood businesses have suffered in this pandemic. Union Street needs foot traffic and business to rebuild the community. This petition is signed by the people who live in the neighborhood, dine in the neighborhood, shop in the neighborhood and do business in the neighborhood.

Dear Estevan, I am a business owner on Union St. This is only for Saturdays and Sundays. I have been in business on Union St. for over 12 years and I rarely ever receive packages on the weekends. Most deliveries are made during the week. If we don't do something to help promote the street you may not have any businesses to deliver to. Danielle
The local shops are struggling so bad. Anything to get people walking around again is a win in my book. Lets do it.
Please do not sign the petition. It'll be hard for us delivery guys (usps/ups/fedex) to do our job and deliver to the businesses and residences of union street. If the street will be blocked businesses and residences will not get their parcels and we won't be able to do pick ups as well. While this idea sounds good it'll be a hassle to the business owners and residents who depend on us for parcel delivery. Thanks!
This would be so nice for the neighborhood. Getting outside safely is exactly what we need right now. Please let this happen!
Love this idea. It feels like a ghost town lately and we really need to support the owners who are trying to keep the lights on.
