The Department of Public Welfare has made a preliminary decision to revoke Today's Child's Certificate of Compliance. This decision is being appealed, and will hopefully be reversed. This petition will be sent (with the intro written below) to the Regional Director of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning. Today's child has become more than just childcare for my child, they make my child fee as though she is part of their family. We don't have a lot of family locally, but we have learned you don't have to be blood to be family. When my child was sick, they emailed to check on my child. The mornings are full of hugs and genuine feeling asking my daughter how her night was. As a mother I feel blessed to have such loving people are for my daughter on a daily basis.
I have 2 children at Today's Child in Media. Both of them have had made great strides in their development under the caring teachers and administrators at the Center. As other parents have stated, this would create a tremendous hardship for my family if this Center were to close. Our children have been in day care facilities since they were six months old. Very careful consideration and effort went into the selection of those Centers. This decision to revoke Media's certificate appears to be a bit of a witch hunt and a very drastic measure for a Center that has never demonstrated a pattern of behavior that would warrant this decision. I implore you to reconsider your decision and to focus your resources on Centers and people that pose a real risk to children.
While I also cannot speak to the circumstatnces surrounding the alleged incidient, I can tell you that my son has flourished under the care of Today's Child-Media. His teachers and the staff have been extremely understanding and caring. They listen to any questions/suggestions/wants that I have. I trust everyone there to take care of my child. He also comes home and tells me he had fun at school, he tells me everything he did and even when he is a troublemaker.
I have two children at today's child and have always been perfectly happy with the care they receive. I do not believe the incident in question could have happened at the facility. What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"??? If this facility is closed, it will be an extreme hardship for our family. There are no other daycare centers in the area in our budget that do not have long waitlists so I may not be able to work if you close our daycare without at least 6 months notice.
all 3 of children have been with the media location since they were 6 weeks old, now two are schoolagers here and the other in our wonderful preschool 1 class. As a parent I could not think of sending my children any where else after experiencing what I have and continue to experience here at Media. As a director, I have never met such dedicated, loving, and engaging teachers. They are truly what makes this center.

I've pulled my children from an abusive day care facility, and placesd them at Today's Child-Media and have been extremely eased since!! I consider it one of the best choices I have ever made; my children have thrived tremendously, they have grown leaps and bounds from the love and attention they recieve! I urge DPW to strongly reconsider their decision!
