Dear KCLC teachers and fellow parents,
Our son, Minseh, who is in Tide Pool now, has been at KCLC since early 2017. We feel we have built a very special community with fellow parents and teachers (including our cook!) in the center over the years. We’re very sad about the fact that it might disappear at the end of this year. So, we really hope that the center will remain open under new leadership within the compressed timescale of 4 months.
We thought it might help if we can provide the City with the names of parents and teachers that would prefer to stay when there is new ownership. This might make it easier for the next company to make the business decision to take on the challenge since they would be assured that there are enough kids and teachers to run the day care. If you hope to stay and continue to be part of the community, could you sign your name (including your kid’s name if you’re a parent) in this petition site? (by Aug 23 at the latest!)
After the end of next week, we will provide the City with the names of kids, parents, and teachers who have signed the list. We hope that our effort will make it easier for a company to hit the ground running.

The feedback from the teachers has been overwhelming. We are working behind the scenes to get this list in front of the right people at the City.

Active duty, dual military family. I am a DLI student here with my son Robbie Negron who attends this daycare. We very much want this location to remain open and available to the post and surrounding city population. We love it here!
Infant Teacher at KCLC and would like to stay at my job and keep the center open!
My daughter, Olivia, is in the two year old room with Ms. Ellia and Ms. Natalie. My husband and I are both in the Air Force and having the Kindercare on the Presidio has been amazing. Having her on post with us during the day eases our minds and worries about security threats as well as enables us to get to the daycare quickly in the event of an emergency. We have been here since May and our daughter is just getting used to the new faces she sees everyday. We are hoping that a new provider will take over in time, but we can't hold onto hope and will have to apply for a different preschool in the next month or two. Please either keep KCLC or have another provider step up before December. This timeline is unreasonable short for parents and staff to find a new daycare/preschool.
My daughter Anabelle just recently moved into seahorse to prepare her for kindergarten next fall. She has been with the center and her friends for two years and loves it. We have a 10 week old son, Bryson who will be (hopefully) starting in the infant room on September 23. We have zero options for him outside of this center because infant care wait lists are too long and spots are not available for years! We are in a very tough spot and need this center to remain open and have a seamless transition to a new provider!
My son, Kayhaan, loves his class and teachers, and my daughter Alena has a strong bond with her teachers. She is only 17 months and has no idea that her daycare will be closed in only 4 months! Please either ask KCLC to stay until next provider takes over, or make sure there is a provider before the center is closed this December. This timeline is too stressful for us as parents and for kids and their teachers.

Please save this daycare! My little niece Leona loves her teachers and the sweet friends she's made at this school! and our peninsula is very short on daycare, as evidenced by a dear friend who is pregnant and also looking for future daycare.

Leona joined the Jellies classroom at the tender age of 5 months and I can't imagine uprooting her from her beloved teachers and administration. Infant care is, unfortunately, so rare on the peninsula, and this center is so very much needed. Please Save Our Daycare!!!
