we actually did it, the shandon street post office is staying open. i cant believe how much pressure we kept on them until they finally backed down. stay alert because we need to make sure they stick to this promise.
I am calling on the government and An Post to reverse the cuts to post masters in order to keep a post office in Shandon Street for the residents, businesses, the community and the people working there.
These signatures will be given to An Post and the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Richard Bruton TD.
Please do not close our post office for the sake of the people whos only social outlet is visiting their P O and to get some shopping locally

There a very few original shops locally owned left on the street. It's one of the oldest areas of the city, why force the pensioners to go into town to collect their pensions.

It's a disgrace to close this...the people in the surrounding area are elderly and it's a lifeline for them....most don't drive so Blackpool or North Main st not an option

I worked on Shandon Street for 15 years. Loved popping into the Post Office for a natter. Would be a shame to see it go. It brings business to the other shops in the area.
