After the passing of the Post Master, Royal Mail in their wisdom want to close the sorting office in the village of Carlton in Lindrick. This will cause untold misery for the for the residents of Carlton manning II'dthey miss a package they will have to travel to the main sorting office in town. This has very limited opening hours and no parking. If you have to use public transport it will mean a bus journey you town costing £5+ return and a walk off about ½ mile meaning those who are less able wwellstruggle.
It also increases the carbon footprint of Royal Mail when having to redeliver packages.
Please sign and let Royal Mail know this is not acceptable and you want to keep your Sorting Office here in the Village where people know and talk to each other.
To gain access to the sorting office in Worksop from Carlton involves a lengthy drive into and around the town (using one-way streets) and when you get there, parking is very restricted. A nightmare ! If they are determined to close this particular post office, postal parcels could be collected at the other location in Beckett Avenue (or better still have a post office in the Long Lane shopping area). Failing all that, collection should be better located at the office in Langold - which would be considerably easier to access.
