Final supporters
The Izaak Walton League Lodge has been a part of our community since the 1920s. Since that time, this quaint building has served the needs of the public, the League, and as the heart of the Stillwater Nature Camp for 25+ years. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to halt the destruction of the Izaak Walton League Lodge at Sanborn Lake. We do so in order to ensure our children’s access to environmental education, and due to the historical nature of the lodge. Further, we hope to work with the City in eventually replacing the Lodge to better serve the needs of Nature Camp and the public.

My children loved nature camp and thankfully the lodge was there for them to shelter in during a terrible hail storm, a few years ago.
Stillwater Nature Camp is a great experience for our children. First tree ever climbed by my child was in front of the Lodge. They learn so much in that week of attendance and make new friends and connect with friends in a safe, educational environment.
This lodge has been a part of Nature Camp since I was a child. I grew up in the camp and have dear memories in that lodge. We need to work together to improve the lodge, not destroy it.
My son has been going to this camp for 3 years. He loves it! He is ADHD and this helps him get to have fun and be outside and let him be himself.
I have grandchildren that attend this each year. My oldest grandson has gone since the age he could start and is now a counselor. This camp teaches respect for our Earth, distinguishing between types of snakes, spiders, berries that are poisonous and numerous other things. Let's keep our camp at this site because it is safe.
My grandson loved Nature Camp. Every child should get the chance to experience nature up close, like in this camp.

I remember Sanborn Lake from the 1950's. It was wonderful even then. I hope the Lodge will be repaired due to its' historical significance.
