The council finally held a vote and they decided to protect the Priory which is just incredible news after all this stress. I am honestly still processing the fact that our local history stays right where it belongs because those walls hold so many memories. Keep an eye on the …

WE THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY CALL UPON THE SEFTON COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO REFUSE ANY APPLICATIONS FOR DEMOLITION OR CHANGE OF USE OF THE PRIORY PUBLIC HOUSE SEFTON ROAD LITHERLAND.THIS FAMOUS 200 YEARS OLD PLUS, LOCAL LITHERLAND LANDMARK WAS A FORMER COACHING HOUSE AND IS STEEPED IN HISTORY NAMELY AS A FORMER PLACE OF WORSHIP AND AS A MEETING PLACE FOR LITHERLAND URBAN DISTRICT COUNCILLORS PRIOR TO THE BUILDING OF ST PHILLIPS CHURCH AND LITHERLAND TOWN HALL. THIS PUB WAS ALSO FREQUENTED BY THE WORLD FAMOUS BEATLES WHO PLAYED THEIR FIRST GIG AS THE BEATLES AT LITHERLAND TOWN HALL IN THE EARLY SIXTIES. IT IS WITHOUT DOUBT A MOST VALUABLE COMMUNITY ASSET AND SHOULD BE KEPT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN AT ALL COSTS.

I just looked at the screen and realized how far this has moved and I honestly need a minute to process the fact that so many people care about this place as much as I do. It feels like the tide is finally turning for the old building and seeing that energy is just unreal considering where we started.

A lot of money has been invested into our area, building new homes and making this a nicer place to live. Losing the Priory would be a massive backwards step! The Priory is a local pub full of history and tradition, where better for all our new neighbours to meet and become part of the community! Save our local and our community!

Litherland is nothing but houses. No green space or anything of interest. Let's hang on to at least one nice building, with some history.

This building is not only laden with historical reason's to not demolish it. It is the centre of my home town. It's a landmark, a meeting place for family and friends from the area, a workplace, a beautiful building with many people's memories inside it. SAVE THE PRIORY PUB! Leave it to be enjoyed by the people who it really belongs to: the people of Litherland.

it.s unthinkable to say the priory will be demolished. Its a public landmark. To replace it with flats or houses will take away our heritage. This building is beautiful. Litherland won,t be the same without it,surely there is a solution to this dilemma.

The fact the developers acquired the site and earmarked it for flats, without consulting residents or even having planning permission, just adds insult to injury. With more signatures and more people opposing this disgraceful proposal we WILL stop this happening. SAVE OUR PUB!!! SAVE OUT PRIORY!!!

this is scandalous to contemplate knocking this famous historic landmark down to build flats and houses when the site of another pub the liverpool arms is lying derelict 2 years after demolition and the massive St wilfrids site also lies empty!

was a lovely pub that all our family enjoyed. Think it's a disgrace that our local pubs are being closed. All these new houses are getting built. But where are people supposed to go to socialise. The Netherton pub which is not far away is rammed packed nearly all the time. The mons which is owned by the same company as the priory is packed all the time. There is obviously still demand for local pubs especially the ones that do food
