The Appleby Pub in Burton upon Trent has been closed because the brewery has shut it down.
Does the brewery really want to leave the pub empty which in turn will make them no money?
This pub is a starting point for local bands to get seen plus the fact EVERYONE is welcome there's no prejudice, ever. What the brewery fails to realise is this is the only place in burton for people who otherwise get discriminated against can go to not have fear of that. The appleby always did gigs for bands to start up and supported them through their progression, they did charity events and fundraisers. We cant lose the place.
It's the only real music venue in burton that gives fresh new bands the chance to start up and gives people a meeting place.
The Appleby is a magical place where we dont get discriminated for dress or music style, you make friends with people just but standing next to them and starting a conversation. Multiple reviews on various websites deem this pub as one of the friendliest places in Burton and management thats second to none.
For years, The Appleby has been the foundation of Burtons musical talent, creating new bands and helping the progression of already exsisting ones. This includes the like of Never The Last Breath, DMC, My Romance Chemicals, Bill Cort and Enemo - J to name a few frequent flyers. Without this place, such bands have no place in Burton, where other joints aren't musically friendly to the level we need.
The owners have put their lives into this pub, they get to know every person who passes through and treats them like family. They have done a hell of a lot for us, and its our turn to show our support and do the same for them.
We want to go to extremes to show we're serious about not losing our home away from home, so we need signitures and believe me, this is just the start of our campaign.
For the oddballs, alternative, strange folk and down right wierdos of Burton on Trent! This patition is to help get the appleby back and open again, we are not sitting back and letting the appleby be taken away from us.

Absolute shame. This place welcomed everyone regardless of how you looked or what you listened to. Keep the music alive in Burton.
i grew up going to gigs here :( burton is gonna be so boring without this spot. please dont let them bulldoze it
