Time is of the essence! The Samoan government has said they will destroy this invaluable landmark! Help us save this precious monument of OUR history. Our history is apart of our identity, it makes us who we are today. Stand up and be counted Samoa, we are the people - and we have a voice!

We don't have many iconic Landmarks left in Samoa that is part of our Modern Samoan History. Let's work together to save those buildings remaining like this old magnificent Court house in Apia.

May 1961:
It was in this building that our people voted for our Constitution and to be the 1st Independent Nation in the South Pacific. By 1962 Samoa Independence was realised.

Our aim is to put more pressure on the Govt. of Samoa to preserve our LANDMARKS

This Landmark Is The Monument Of Our Samoan Independence!

This building is apart of our heritage, our culture, our history. This played an important part of our history it deserves to stay standing as it is more important than a hotel that can be built several meters going North, East, South or West.

Would love to see these historic buildings restored especially the Courthouse and maybe used as a Museum filled with Samoan Artifacts and History from the past for future generations to visit and also great location for tourist being right in the heart of Apia.

It would be a great shame if they destroy a very important part of our history. We have to remember how we arrived at our Independence and preserve the courage our leader shed blood to achieve that goal at this very site. Samoa mo Samoa

Heritage buildings are crucial parts of culture and identity....Samoa has led the way on fale and indigenous architecture from precolonial era....why get rid of this court house that is so essential to understanding the more recent past?

A group of us started the 'Save the Courthouse' in 2016 but we just could not raise the funds required to repair this building to its former glory. We have all the buildung plans, internal structural & engineer reports if anyone is interested.

We must try and preserve rather than destroy. Wouldn't it be nice for future generations to be able to see and have something standing rather than reading about it. (Also..most if not all the new buildings are ugly concrete slabs...just saying!!)
