It is incredibly unfortunate when such a historic building is considered for sale. It's a piece of history that needs to be preserved, not to make a quick profit. Save the Geelong Gaol!!
one of geelong major icons cannot be sold!! many generations still need to know that geelong held many known criminals and the great iconic stories of what went on behind those famous creaking gates!
do not let developers get their hands on this historical site put it on the heritage list please. I come all the way from Cheltenham to visit and investigate in the gaol it's an amazing place so please leave it alone.
Having filmed Tv show Haunting:Australia in this location, and presenting the Gaol to the world, It would be a great disappointment to see it turned into something else/ When are we as Australians going to stop destroying our heritage. What will Geelong have to offer without it's iconic Gaol?
I work with geelong gaol ghost tours from the gaol and LOVE sharing our convict history and running seven days a week, it is clear that everyone love it too! Please don't sell our gaol it is an amazing assert and the only intact convict gaol still standing in victoria!

This Gaol is an incredible piece of Australian history, built in the 1864 this Prison was still fully functioning up until 1991, that is absolutely incresible! the building stands on top of Geelong today & it proves to us that our history is important & is needed.
