The Halt Bar on Woodlands Rd, Glasgow is under threat of redevelopment by brewery Punch Taverns, they are planning to close it as a real pub and turn it into a restaurant /gastro pub. Sometimes all you want is a pub where everybody knows your name. This is increasingly difficult to find in Glasgow's West End as style bar after wine bar or gastro pub pops up. Okay, maybe not everybody in The Halt Bar knows your name, but you will quickly feel at home in one of the only proper "local pubs" on Woodlands road. This is now under serious threat. As far as Glasgow neighbourhoods go Woodlands is one that still retains a lot of it's own character,if we don't try to preseve it little by little we're gonna lose many more significant and familiar landmarks and places that breed culture and make us feel comfortable.
