The Glen Innes Council has proposed cutting all the funding that the Glen Innes Sports Council receives from their 2021/2022 budget.

The funding received in the past would be used toward small grants for sporting clubs to help improve their facilities. The funding also helps the Glen Innes Sports Council facilitate their Annual and Monthly sports Awards.

Without this funding the Sports Council cannot support our local athletes and sporting clubs. Local initiatives such as the Annual Sports Council Awards and the Sports Star of the Month Award will be scrapped and the Glen Innes Sports Council Committee will likely cease to exist.

Please sign this petition to stop the Glen Innes Council cutting our funding so we can continue to support local sports.

“Kid in sport is a kid out of court “. Please don’t let sports funding stop .. we have so many talented kids in sport . There is very little other activities for the kids in this town . You stop now it will stop for the future . Don’t do it please .

Constant culling of activities like this are the reason the town is dying. Stop catering to the wants of people knocking on death's door and damn well start looking out for the future of young people in this town!
