You may or may not have heard that in the Governments Spending Review, ALL funding to the 450 School Sport Partnerships in England has been cut. This effectively means that there will be no 1. Partnership Development Managers 2. School Sport Co-ordinators 3. Competition Managers But more importantly our young people/your children will suffer a massive cutback in: - quality support for their primary PE lessons - the range of sports on offer - after school sports clubs - sports competitions and festivals - sports leadership training and opportunities -links to local sports clubs -sports coaches working with young people in schools -chances to experience the Olympic legacy promised by Seb Coe IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS DECISION PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION AND PASS THIS WEB ADDRESS TO YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND COLLEAGUES

Updates

November 26, 2010

The momentum behind this petition has reached a level that allows me to request a formal meeting with the Department for Education. I am currently drafting a letter to summarize our position before this session is scheduled. Updates will follow as soon as a discussion is confirmed.

Sports are just as important as math or english. Stop cutting the stuff that actually keeps kids engaged at school.

My daughter loves her after school club. If they take this away she has nothing to do. Absolute disgrace.

Kids spend enough time on tablets and games as it is. They need to be running around and learning team skills. This is a huge mistake
